Q: What is Our Common Ground?
A : OCG provides services for those who seek help with life’s difficulties compounded by substance abuse and/or mental health issues including drug addiction and alcoholism and co-occurring disorders. OCG has been providing substance abuse rehabilitation, addiction counseling and mental health services since 1988.
Q: Is Our Common Ground non-profit?
A : An essential part of OCG’s continued growth and substance abuse treatment program is the financial support given to us by individuals, corporations and foundations. Our Common Ground is a non profit, 501(c)3 organization.
Q : What are your services?
A: Separate and individualized programs are available for adults age 18 and over. Substance abuse and mental health issues disrupt peoples’ lives and the lives of those who care about them. Our Common Ground seeks to heal the whole individual as well as the client’s family and social network. Issues such as emotional well being, physical health, education, and work preparedness are all part of restoring our clients and their loved ones to health.
Q: What is the underlying treatment philosophy of Our Common Ground?
A: OCG is based on a Strength Based Therapeutic Community (TC) concept: a highly structured and nurturing family environment where positive peer interaction is emphasized, and a client’s skills, needs, abilities, and preferences are taken into account during treatment and rehabilitation planning.
A: Who makes up the staff of Our Common Ground?
A: The staff consists of professionals in the fields of psychology, social work, medicine, education, and paraprofessionals, as well as Our Common Ground graduates who have gone through intensive training and / or certification in counseling.
A: Does Our Common Ground accept private insurance?
A: Yes. The primary insured is responsible, however, for ensuring that Our Common Ground is listed as a provider, and its services are covered benefits under the primary insured’s plan. Our staff can help with this process if needed.
